Job Description:

The University of Florida Digital Worlds Institute is seeking a digital artist/developer with a desire and ability to teach at the college level. The Lecturer in Digital Arts and Sciences position will include teaching as well as production and development of digital media to support our academic programs.

The ideal candidate would bring experience in areas including the creation of digital content, integration of 2D and/or 3D digital assets with a game engine, and project development.  This design-focused position would provide instruction using the Adobe Suite and other software-based environments including animation tools and game engines. The specifics of the teaching assignments would be based on the skills of the candidate and may be subject to change according to the needs of the institute, college or university.

Each year, the Director of the Digital Worlds Institute will identify goals for the position's work assignments. The annual evaluation will be based on demonstrated progress toward reaching those goals. These evaluations will serve as important criteria in considerations regarding promotion and salary determination.

Advertised Salary:

Commensurate with experience. 

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an area related to digital arts and sciences, desire and ability to teach at the college level.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in successful project development and completion in the digital arts industry, proven ability to mentor and support student achievement and career preparation, a Master’s degree in an area related to digital arts and sciences.
