The Department of Statistics at the University of Florida invites applications for an open rank lecturer position to begin August 16, 2018.This is a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure accruing, renewable appointment with the opportunity for advancement in UF’s Lecturer track, funded by the UF Teacher/Scholar Initiative. The primary duties include teaching undergraduate statistics courses. Applicants with a PhD will also be expected to teach graduate level service courses.
The role of lecturers is highly valued by the department and the university. To encourage and facilitate their professional development, lecturers at the University of Florida are eligible for promotion through the ranks of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Master Lecturer. An appointment to Senior Lecturer must demonstrate consistent achievement in teaching and advising. Appointment to Master Lecturer in addition requires accomplishments such as innovation in the classroom, active involvement at the national level in statistical education, and innovative statistical education outreach programs.
