As a premier Career Center, the University of Florida’s Career Resource Center is dedicated to supporting the University of Florida’s academic mission by providing comprehensive Career Services that supports and educates all students. As a member of the Operations team the Assistant Director will aid the career center in managing the implementation of center-wide initiatives to increase the online career service offerings at the University of Florida. 

Responsibilities

Serves as the primary manager of the Gator CareerLink system (UF’s online employment database system a product of Symplicity). Ensures database quality, integrity, and tracking methods are accurate for reporting and University compliance to support the Career Center’s mission. Works collaboratively with all aspects of the Center to evaluate and disseminate system information to appropriate constituents; makes recommendations to improve Center’s services and efficiencies based on system usage. Manages and coordinates the implementation of system updates, staff trainings and launching of new system enhancements.

Manage of new online programs, resources and career services tools supporting the Center. Provides data analysis on system/service utilization to support the Center’s mission & enhancements. Evaluates and recommends additional technology tools needed to advance career services.

Stays current with recent trends, technology, resources, and research addressing college recruitment and career development issues. Evaluates the effectiveness of online programs and services and reports the effectiveness of these programs.

Performs other administrative duties as assigned by the Associate Director and higher authorities in the department and division.  Attends staff meetings and one-on-one supervision meetings to ensure clear communication with colleagues and supervisors. Participates in department, division and university-wide committees. Potentially supervises graduate students, interns, or student assistants. May have indirect impact on the position duties of other Center staff members.  Track, report and communicate outcomes of projects to various Center stakeholders including: students, alumni, faculty/staff, and employers. Advertised Salary:

$47,476.00

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the field of program management, project management, outreach, marketing/branding, career services, database management, sales, development or human resources.
  • Seeking candidates with knowledge of career services, branding and/or marketing, outreach strategies, community engagement, business development, and experience working with diverse populations. 
  • Skilled in computer applications and working with databases. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of team is essential.
  • Must have skills in advising, effective oral and written communications, research and analysis, data quality management, interpersonal interaction, supervision, high levels of customer service, attention to details, program planning, and management. 
  • A working knowledge of computers, word processing and database management is essential to this unique environment.
