Job Description:

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida is recruiting full-time faculty member to the Division of Cellular and Molecular Therapy as an Assistant Professor on the tenure track.

This position will report to the Cellular and Molecular Division Chief and the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics. Following is a general description of the duties and responsibilities:

  • Developing innovative research ideas
  • Designing and conducting experiments
  • Collecting and interpreting data
  • Submitting articles for peer reviewed publications
  • Presenting research results at scientific meetings
  • Procuring extramural funding to support research enterprise

The Division of Cellular and Molecular Therapy consists of a group of investigators having shared interests in both the molecular and cellular biology of AAV and parvovirus B19 as eminently suitable vectors for human gene therapy. It also serves as a reference point for collating the in-flow and out-flow of ideas and materials relevant to application of parvovirus vectors in basic science research and clinical trials on campus as well as elsewhere throughout the scientific community. The ideal candidate will have interests aligning with the Division.

Advertised Salary:

Salary is negotiable based on qualification and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. and/or M.D.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. A successful track record of obtaining extramural research funding
  2. Active extramural grant funding
  3. Interest in immune modulation and tolerance induction using adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy
