Job Description:

As part of an initiative to modernize and improve lower-division instruction, the Department of Mathematics at the University of Florida invites applications for four (4) non-tenure-track, nine-month, renewable lecturer positions to begin as early as January, 2018. Candidates must have substantial interest in STEM education reform; in particular; the department seeks to attract individuals with experience in active learning environments such as flipped classrooms. The university’s stated goal is to reduce class sizes across campus and these new positions will allow the mathematics department to support this effort by moving large-lecture calculus courses to smaller, more interactive environments. The individuals hired into these lines will be tasked with implementing this shift and will work together with existing faculty to deliver a high-quality learning experience for UF’s students.

Advertised Salary:

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a full benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in mathematics or in mathematics education with substantial coursework in mathematics (at least 18 credit hours of graduate mathematics courses) and a record of success in curriculum development and innovative teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with online instruction is a plus.
