The Veterinary Technician Assistant Manager (VTAM) assists the Veterinary Technician Manager (VTM) in coordinating veterinary technical and clinical services. The VTAM will establish working relationships and communicate effectively with research partners, clinical veterinarians and other ACS staff. The VTAM will demonstrate an excellent understanding of established protocols and procedures and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and guidelines concerning quality assurance and laboratory animal care and use. Some species are potentially aggressive and some may carry infections that are hazardous to humans or other animals. Some animals may be experimentally infected. Position may require vaccination to work with these animals. The VTAM provides direct supervision of assigned veterinary care technician staff.
