Job Description:

The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida seeks applicants for an assistant, associate or full professor position.  The Pediatric Infectious Diseases program currently has one full-time faculty member, and two part-time faculty members. We are looking to expand the division with at least one more mid- to upper level faculty person and a junior faculty member. The division will expand the group's research effort and clinical activities. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience; the ideal candidate would have at least several years of faculty experience, clear research interests and be progressing effectively for promotion and their career in infectious diseases. The successful candidate may be appointed on the non-tenure or tenure-accruing track.

Specific duties will include; leading or contributing the development of new research activities within the division which produce collaboration with other pediatric department members and other groups within the UF COM and produce successful grant acquisition and publications, expand the clinical services provided in both the inpatient and outpatient arenas (including but not limited to infection control, transplant services in pediatrics, optimizing safety and consistency of infectious disease care across the department,  a travel clinic, telemedicine distance program and outreach clinics) and further the division's educational activities for students, residents, fellows especially raising the quality of the education provided as part of the University of Florida, College of Medicine striving for excellence in education.

Salary is negotiable based on qualification and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have a M.D. degree or equivalent and be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida in Pediatrics and be board certified/eligible in General Pediatrics or the appropriate subspecialty.
