Animal Care Technician I (Cage Wash)

| The Animal Care Technician 1 (ACT1) provides basic care of animals and animal facilities by completing primarily simple and routine animal caretaking and cage wash duties as directed by Operations Manager or their designee, which may occur up to 50% of the time of overall job duties and responsibilities.
All actions are completed by strictly and consistently following applicable ACS SOPs including safety procedures and policies. Reports any suspected or actual deviations to SOP’s or non-routine situations immediately to Operations Manager or their designee.
This position is working in one of Animal Care Services cage wash sections, this ACT1 will operate cage wash machinery to include tunnel washer, rack washer, bedding vacuum system, waste disposal BSC, water bottle filling station, bedding dispenser, autoclaves and other related units. Will maintain cage wash support-areas including Edstrom water rooms, gas tank rooms, storage rooms, etc. |

| The University of Florida (UF) seeks a Director for the UF Interdisciplinary Informatics and Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIAIRI). The mission of the IIAIRI, formerly known as the Informatics Institute, is to facilitate and accelerate interdisciplinary research in artificial intelligence, data science, and informatics across the entire University of Florida enterprise. This Institute will leverage existing strengths in data science, informatics, and artificial intelligence within each of our academic units, UF’s HiPerGator supercomputer, and unique partnerships with NVIDIA and other leading companies in AI and high-performance computing. The IIAIRI will partner with UF Research Computing to provide the computational support infrastructure necessary to advance the research efforts across campus. The IIAIRI will also be a key partner with the UF Artificial Intelligence Academic Initiative Center, known as AI2 (AI squared), which is the UF focal point for academic initiatives related to AI and data science. |

The Director, in collaboration with faculty from across multiple departments and colleges at UF, will identify key issues related to water, including protecting natural systems, supporting sustainable and resilient human uses, building institutional capacity, and providing expert assistance. The Director will work with faculty and administrators to create and facilitate disciplinary and multi-disciplinary programs related to the tripartite mission of Land Grant universities. These programs will establish ongoing, long-term, strategic relationships with key external stakeholders related to water science and sustainability. |
