This TEAMS position will conduct research in citrus and other tree crop horticulture, including but not limited to irrigation, plant nutrition, water, and nutrient management, cultural practices, cropping systems, variety trials, nursery and greenhouse plant production, and pest and disease management. New areas can be incorporated based on funding and collaboration. The individual will establish, maintain, and gather data from research plots and greenhouses at the Indian River Research and Education Center (IRREC) and in commercial groves in collaboration with private cooperators. The bioscientist will be responsible for properly using equipment and facilities, planning and initiating experiments, and collecting data. The person will assist in revising grants, peer-reviewed journal articles, and other technical publications. The employee is expected to provide horticultural training in workshops and short-term courses. The bioscientist will directly supervise OPS employees and will assist graduate students in their research and other TEAMS employees in the execution of their duties. The individual will also be responsible for procuring supplies, completing fertilizer/chemical inventories, and performing other related duties as assigned.
